Kindergarten Orientation is Tomorrow!

Hello Kindergarten Parents,

The big day has arrived and the Kindergarten staff at Great Falls is looking forward to meeting you and your child! I wanted to share a little bit of what tomorrow morning will look like. We’ve found that predicting new routines often  helps our newest students with their transitions, and hope that you find it helpful to share this with your child.

When you arrive at Great Falls at 9:30 a.m., head into our Gym to check in with our friendly office staff. You will confirm your child's transportation information. Following that, you and your child can head directly to your child's new Kindergarten classroom. Don't worry... we will have plenty of people to help guide you along the way!

You will be able to explore the classroom and drop off your child's school supplies. At approximately 9:45 a.m., you will hear an announcement from me for parents only to head to the cafeteria. The students will remain in the classroom for an activity with their Kindergarten teacher.

While in the cafeteria, Mrs. Sawyer and I will go over some logistical information and answer any questions. Following our time together, you will head back to your child's classroom. The teachers would love some time to talk with you and answer any questions that you may have.

The students will have been escorted to the playground by our amazing and kind recess staff. While your child is on the playground, the recess staff will go over recess safety rules and practice lining up and, of course, play!

At 10:45 a.m., your child will be escorted back to the classroom where they will be reunited with you! The final stop on our orientation day will be a practice bus ride. You will be prompted to head to the front of the school where you and your child can board a bus for a short practice ride.

That will conclude our Kindergarten Orientation! Feel free to stay and play on the playground and meet new friends! We will see everyone back on Tuesday, August 30th for our 1st full day of school.
